Sir William Robertson Academy Celebrates Best Ever A Level Results and Nationally Outstanding Vocational Success
Students and staff at Sir William Robertson Academy are celebrating a year of exceptional Sixth Form success, with the academy achieving its best ever A Level results alongside nationally recognised excellence in vocational education.
This year's outcomes reflect the ambition, dedication and resilience of students and staff across the Sixth Form. Particularly noteworthy is the Academy's achievement of ALPS Grade 2 for vocational qualifications, placing Sir William Robertson Academy amongst the top-performing providers nationally and within the top 10% of schools and colleges in England for student progress.
Alongside these outstanding vocational outcomes, students studying A Levels have secured the strongest results in the academy's history, opening doors to a wide range of university courses, higher apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
The success comes at an exciting time for the Academy's Sixth Form, which will welcome its largest ever Year 12 cohort in September 2026, reflecting the growing confidence that students and families place in the quality of education, support and opportunities available at Sir William Robertson Academy.
Emily Hodder, from Navenby, achieved an A* grade in Art & Design and A grades in Drama and Theatre and Religious Studies and has secured a place at Durham University to study Theology and Religion. Abigail Radcliffe, also from Navenby, achieved an A*grade in Geography, a grade A in French and a grade B in Drama and Theatre and has taken a Business Administration Apprenticeship here at Sir William Robertson Academy. Abraham Stock, from Newark, achieved As in History and Religious Studies and a grade B in English Language and has been offered a place at the University of Sheffield to study Politics and Philosophy. Alice Mallon, also from Newark, achieved an A grade in Geography and B grades in Biology and History and has been offered a place at the University of Lincoln to study Biology. Grace Costello, from Waddington, is planning to study Drama, Theatre and Performance at the University of Lincoln having gained A grades in Drama and Theatre and Media Studies as well as her EPQ and a grade C in English Literature.
Our Level 3 BTEC students also performed strongly, with the majority achieving top Distinction* and Distinction grades. Alice Pellett was delighted to achieve Distinction*, Distinction, Distinction in the Extended Diploma in Sport, equivalent to 3 A levels, and has been offered an Apprenticeship through Inspire+. Harris Snaith achieved Distinction, Distinction, Distinction in the Extended Diploma in Sport and has secured a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at Pilgrim. Gracie Lea achieved a Distinction* in Business and has decided to take a gap year. Ellie Turner achieved an A in Health and Social Care.
The broad range of interests of SWRA's students is reflected in their choice of university courses and careers. Emily Adcock is heading to the University of Hull to study Adult Nursing; Lena Bloszyk is going to Sheffield Hallam University to study Criminology and Psychology; Dylan Phillips is pursuing a career in Law through a Degree Apprenticeship and Rebecca Pappini is heading to the University of York to study French and Spanish including a year abroad.

Charlotte Wilson, Returning as Head of Sixth Form of Sir William Robertson Academy after maternity leave added:
